About the Library

The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is located in the center of the beautiful Miami Shores campus of 51ֿ. The Library is named in loving memory of Monsignor William Barry, one of the founders of 51ֿ and an inspirational figure in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Miami.

The extensive Library research collections include more than 200,000 physical items, and over 600,000 electronic resources, including ebooks, streaming media, and electronic journals.

The collection is balanced to meet the research needs of the wide variety of undergraduate through doctoral programs offered at 51ֿ. The collection of Roman Catholic research materials is especially significant and is one of the largest collections of its kind in the area.

While 51ֿ is a private institution and access to the Library Collections is primarily restricted to 51ֿ students, faculty, staff, and alumni, the library supports the research needs of residents of the Village of Miami Shores, and academic researchers from around the world.
